DJ Colossal's iPod Pick: Mono Bagends "You Drive Me Crazy"
This week's iPod pick is on Mono Bagends' new single "You Drive Me Crazy" the follow up to last years BLAST HIT "On Fire". "You Drive Me Crazy" is a certified dance floor hit track, produced by West Coast composer D-Animal, and features guest vocals from singer Mela Bela for the song's chorus. On this song Mono Bagends talks about how it can get being in a relationship with someone and sometimes the other person will start to..... "Drive You Crazy". Mono Bagends' vocals match perfectly with this dance floor banger, and the hook is very catchy and will stick in your mind while having you chant the words"Every time you come around girl you just want to DRIVE ME CRAZY" right along with the vocals.
I surely recommend this for your iPods and strongly recommend other DJs to put this record on to get everyone moving on the dance floor!

The Giant Blast Presents.... 10 Artists to "Watch Out" for in 2013
Check out this list of hot indie artists to watch out for in 2013! This list is in no particular ranking order, because each and every one of the artists on this list is extremely talented in their own way, it would be like comparing Apples to Oranges, it can't be done! Maybe you all can listen to their music yourself and come up with your own order, but for now just listen and take a look at the artists that made our list!
Mono Bagends
Last year in 2012 Mono Bagends made a lot of
noise with his single "On Fire".
The single was played by DJs and even received love and spins on
terrestrial radio stations across the nation, which led to the single peaking
at #2 for indie artists on the Digital Tracker reports. DJs and program directors weren't the only
ones to hop on the single, but Mono Bagends made lots of new fans as well, and
the love and support of the general public (with additional assistance from The
Giant Blast) resulted in the Official Music Video for "On Fire"
reaching over 100,000 + unique video views in just a few short months! Keeping the momentum going and extending the
buzz, Mono Bagends plans to release the follow up single "U Drive Me
Crazy" very soon! WATCH OUT! Get more information on Mono Bagends at http://www.bagendsblog.blogspot.com
MCBEE-X
Veteran West Coast rapper, MCBEE-X is back! This time bigger and better than ever! MCBEE-X has released the lead single
"I'm The King Pin" which will be featured on his forthcoming album The Return of The King Pin due early
March of 2013! Watch out!Get more information on MCBEE-X at http://www.mcbee-x.blogspot.com
Zemy
Although Zemy is just a teenager, she has accomplished more than some people twice her age, and in 2013 she will continue to grow and shine. Her single "Be Myself" remixed by past Grammy nominated composers The Klubjumpers is certainly keeping her name hot during these coldest months of 2013. Watch out!
Get more information on Zemy at http://www.zemyonline.blogspot.com
PerfectPryzm
The duo from down under and ACM Recording act PerfectPryzm continue to keep the clubs jumping with their Klubjumpers produced single "Dare To Live A Dream". Watch out!

D.I.V.
D.I.V. released some of the best hip hop songs
and videos of 2012! In April 2012 the
New York based lyricist blessed us with "Puff, Pass" the official weed
smoking anthem for that season, later D.I.V. went on to release various music
videos from his critically acclaimed mixtape hosted by The Legendary Ron G.
titled The Vision's The Foundation
such as "U C Me" featuring Hop Da Great and his It's So O.D. partner
in rhyme Nuf $ed, "Never B Alone", "Wake & Bake",
"Look At Me" and just a few other bangers. Just when the buzz from his popular mixtape
started to slow down, D.I.V. being the skillful workaholic that he is woke the
fans up for the next wave of bangers by introducing "World Goes
Round" and "P.O.W.E.R." that appeared on one of the best LPs
produced in 2012, titled The 12th Hour that dropped on 12/12/12 (December 12th
2012)! Recently DJ Khaled has given his
stamp of approval for the artist by appearing on the track "Move"
(Make It Motivate) which also appeared on The 12th Hour! If D.I.V. continues to have the same great
work ethic he had in 2012, then we all know that 2013 will be just as good if
not better! Watch out!Get more information on D.I.V. here at http://www.divnews.blogspot.com
Nitres
Nitres made a huge impact 2012 by releasing his
hot single "What It Is" featuring Petey Pablo, and Nitres is currently
in the studio working hard on new bangers for 2013! Watch out!Get more information on Nitres at http://www.nitresnews.blogspot.com
DJ Mega-Blaster
The former club DJ turned beat maker grew tired
with some of the lack of creativity in the game right now, so he made the
decision to put his creative juices to work by creating his own brand of hip
hop music by taking classic 8 bit video game sounds and blending them with
grimy boom bap underground hip hop bass drums and snares. Artists such as Celcius911, D.I.V., and Blaq
Planet hopped on a few of DJ Mega-Blaster's video game inspired beats and
ripped it, and DJ Mega-Blaster plans to keep the creative juices flowing in
2013 and beyond! Watch out!Listen to some of DJ Mega-Blaster's instrumentals at http://www.youtube.com/djmegablaster
Ike Ellis
Ike Ellis dropped some heavy singles back in the
summer of 2012. The critics and bloggers
top choice singles "Loving You", "Good Good" and the
certified club banger "Shake Ya Body" really brought out some of the
best in Ike Ellis, and in 2013 we can all expect the same! Watch out!
Get more information on Ike Ellis at
http://www.ikeellisnews.blogspot.com Mora
Mora dropped a few memorable singles such as "Let 'Em Know", and "Me & U" back in the winter of 2011, and in 2012 Mora made tons of noise by spitting hard over the 2 Chainz "Yuck" instrumental which resulted in getting lots of new fans... and in 2013 the rising Atlanta, GA based performer will shine even brighter! Watch out! Get more information on Mora at http://www.moramusicblog.blogspot.com
Dolo the Bandit gave us more dope rhymes over
dope beats with the release of his mixtape The Heist
- Code: Black Op in
2012, and the New York based emcee has even more in store in 2013! Watch out! Get more information on Dolo The Bandit at http://www.dolothebanditblog.blogspot.com

Mono Bagends talks about his NEW SINGLE "You Drive Me Crazy" in this Interview
In 2012, Mono Bagends made it hot with his music video and single "On Fire"! The video went on to reach over 170,000 + video views and the single received love from commercial and non commercial radio stations across the nation. Now in 2013 Mono Bagends is back with a new single titled "You Drive Me Crazy" and if last year Mono Bagends made it hot, THIS year Mono Bagends will drive everyone on the dance floor "crazy" as soon as they hear the beat! The New York based recording artist sits down with The Blast Blog to discuss his latest single in this interview.
The Blast Blog:
How has 2013 been going for Mono
Bagends so far?
Mono Bagends:
It's been a little
rough to be honest but I believe things always get there hardest right before
the big breakthrough comes...so I'll say we are right on schedule.
You
have a new single called "You Drive Me Crazy", how would you describe
this new single?
It's a fun pop style
record that goes through the trials and tribulations of a relationship. Everyone at one time or another, male and
female have had a partner who drives them crazy at some point. The chorus is sung by the beautiful, sexy, gorgeous Mela Bela...she did a great job and helped me come up with the concept. The production was done by D-Animal....hailing from the Bay Area. My boy Filthy Rich did the mix.
The
beat is pretty hot, what about this beat made you want to choose this
particular track to rhyme to?
I was just feeling
it...Mela Bela was feeling it...that is how I pick the beats...I am very
versatile as to what I can rhyme over and I like different things...people ask
me all the time what type of beat I am looking for....basically when I hear it
I'll know.Completely different type of record. Apples and Oranges. The only similarity is they are both hot....

Mono Bagends talks about his new single "On Fire", working with D.R. Period, appearing on 106 & Park and more in This Interview
The Blast Blog: What
inspired you to become a rapper?
Mono Bagends: I always had a love for it, but one day I was
chilling with my friends and one of them suggested I become a rapper
because that is all I talk about. Then I heard this voice in my head
tell me to do it...and I turned and looked at him and told him I would
become a rapper. They thought I was nuts...but most people do. God
influenced me to do it. Thats who the voice in my head was.
The Blast Blog: How long have you been rapping?
Mono Bagends: Around 10 years..
The Blast Blog: One of
the milestones in your career as a rapper is that you appeared on 106 &
Park when you barely had anything under your belt as a performer, how did that
come about and what's the story behind that?
Mono Bagends: That's funny that you call that a
milestone...it was the first time I ever picked up a mike and rapped in
front of anyone. One of my boys was basically daring me to do it so this
idiot called the show and got me an audition. I had to go once that
happened. I couldn't back down. I battled 3 people at one time at the
audition and made the show. It was a great experience.
The Blast Blog: Who all have you worked with so far?
Mono Bagends: The most famous person I have worked with
producer wise would be D.R. Period...he did "Ante Up" by M.O.P..."Hey Ma" by
Cam'ron and a whole host of other things. I like working with up and
coming artists and producers because they have that hunger.
The Blast Blog: Who would
you like to work with in the future?
Mono Bagends: I
would love to work with DMX..he is my favorite of all time...Ludacris,
T.I....being from Brooklyn...Jay-Z would have to be up there on the
list. Eminem as well.
The Blast Blog: Where do you see yourself in 5 years as an artist?
Mono Bagends: I
never like to answer this question because you can't really plan out
your future. You never know where life will take you. The expression is
"the quickest way to get God to laugh is to announce your plans to
him".
The Blast Blog: What's the story behind your latest single "On Fire"?
Mono Bagends: It
is a positive inspirational song that the entire world can get behind.
I've gone through a lot in my life and have persevered. When I heard
the beat my soul lit up....I got chills listening to it and felt that I
had to do it. I really took my time with it..the most I have done with
any record I have done.
The Blast Blog: Who did
you work with for this single and video?
Mono Bagends: Luxxury
Music is the producer and Brian from wearepopstudios directed the
video. I recorded it with my boy Filthy Rich in New York who also did
the mix. Everyone involved did a great job.
The Blast Blog: What are
your plans for the single?
Mono Bagends: To
make it pop off!! I have received reports with tons of downloads and
plays being referenced in the reports from music professionals. This
song is a hit and it just needs to be heard. I am going to be attacking
internet radio hard and promoting the video.
The Blast Blog: What projects are you working on next?
The Blast Blog: What projects are you working on next?
Mono Bagends: Right
now I am finishing up my second album..It is untitled right now. I have
a few ideas for it but won't be announcing it just yet.
The Blast Blog: Why did you decide to go with The Giant Blast for extra PR and promotion for your single?
Mono Bagends: Upon
talking to Jay, I felt like he was a honest person with integrity who
answered all my questions with the right answers. He got back to me in a
timely fashion and was professional. Those are the things I look for
when deciding who to work with.
The Blast Blog: Is there anything else you would like to plug, any shout outs?
Mono Bagends: Check out the video on youtube for "On
Fire"...it really brings the song to life. I would like people to know
where to check out my music, buy it if they are feeling it and where to
read about the latest updates with my career. The links are below:
