Blast Spotlight: Rhyme Scheme (Giant Blast featured artist talks about his new single "Four Letters")

What's up Rhyme Scheme?
Rhyme Scheme:  How are you?  First, I would like to thank you for this interview and the opportunity to express my passion.

Although the name makes sense, based on your lyrical abilities, why do you call yourself Rhyme Scheme or who named you that?

Rhyme Scheme:  Rhyme Scheme derived from my poetic abilities. I started out as a poet before entering in to hip hop. As I entered freestyle contest, people said that I rhymed like a poetic or storyteller. So, the name seems to fit me, as well as the Acronym (R.S).

What inspired you to want to rap?
Rhyme Scheme:  My inspiration for rap started when I became more socially conscious. I wanted to become the voice of the people. I needed an avenue to express my thoughts and concerns in the world. Rap provided an outlet to depict my realities.

How long have you been rapping?
Rhyme Scheme:   I started rapping in October 2009.  My partner Revolver and I started a group called “Cobaine”. We made several albums including Mind-sushi which is 100% freestyle. We would jump on the mic and “one take it” without rehearsal. We created some raw lyrics, hence the title “Mind-Sushi”.

How would you describe yourself as an artist?

Rhyme Scheme:  I describe myself as a combination of 2 Pac, Nas, KRS-1, and Chuck D. They are my inspiration in the music industry.  Those artists expressed reality and brought the world to your front door.  I like to touch on subjects that can paint a vivid picture for the public.

Who were some of your favorite artists coming up?
Rhyme Scheme:   Some of my favorite artists coming up include Nas, 2Pac, KRS-1, Public Enemy, Biggie, Ice Cube, and Outkast.

Who are some of your favorite artists right now?
Rhyme Scheme:   Right now, artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Jon Connors, J-Cole and Nas are speaking the truth.

You have a hot new single out titled "Four Letters", for those that haven't heard the song yet, how would you describe it?
Rhyme Scheme:   The song “Four Letters” is something that we all can relate to. It describes the reality of “L.O.V.E.” from everyone’s point of view. We all have experienced love in some form. Even the toughest people are not exempt from L.O.V.E.

Who did you work with for the single?
Rhyme Scheme:   The album was produced by KZR Beatz and mixed by DJ J Green. I recorded the track in my home studio the moment I heard the beat.  It was an instant marriage because the music spoke to me.

What plans do you have for this single?

Rhyme Scheme:   My plan is to let the world hear “4 Letters”. The world needs it. I will pursue radio stations and DJ (s) to get this track more exposure.

Do you plan to shoot a video for the single anytime soon?
Rhyme Scheme:   Yes. A video is coming soon. It is going to be something massive.

What plans do you have for the rest of 2013?
Rhyme Scheme:   I plan to drop 2 albums in 2013. “4 Letters” is the first single off my album titled “All Black” which is dropping in July.

Where do you see yourself as an artist in the next five years?
Rhyme Scheme:   The sky is the limit. If I land on a cloud, then I won’t be too mad.  My plan is to be signed to a major label and start my own record label called “Work farm Entertainment”. My goal is to help other artist reach their dreams.

Is there anything else you would like to plug?  Any shout outs?
Rhyme Scheme:    I would like to send a shout to Revolver of Cobaine, DJ J Green, Victoree, KZR Beatz, and the host of thestarvinartists.net.  One Love!
